THE Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for heavy rain and strong winds which could cause travel disruption and flooding.
The warning is in place from 10 am tomorrow (November 24) to 7 pm in the evening and covers the Stourbridge area.
Forecasters have said spray and flooding on roads is likely which will make journey times longer and there may be some delay to rail travel.
A flood alert has also been in place for the River Stour at Stourbridge due to rising water levels.
The alert states: “River levels have risen at the Stourbridge level gauge as a result of persistent rainfall over the past few days and this morning.
“Consequently, the flooding of roads and farmland is possible today, (November 23).
“Flooding could affect low-lying land and roads adjacent to the nearby river(s).
“Further rainfall is forecast over the next 8 hours. We are closely monitoring the situation.
“Our incident response staff are actively checking river levels and the weather forecast.
“Please avoid using low-lying footpaths and bridges near local watercourses and plan driving routes to avoid low-lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded.”
Although a warning has not been issued for Halesowen and Dudley forecasters have still predicted rainfall from around 11 am into the afternoon.
