STOURBRIDGE'S MP Suzanne Webb has congratulated the restaurant that won her poll to represent the constituency in the Tiffin Cup.

Bombay Pickles Indian restaurant and takeaway in Lower High Street came out top in an online survey as the constituency's best South Asian eatery.

It's now in the regional final of the prestigious competition next month.

If it wins, the restaurant will join other regional winners for the grand final cook-off event in the House of Commons in July.

Suzanne met with father and son team Siddiqur Rahman and Mohammed Al Kashim, who have run the popular restaurant for more than 10 years.

Suzanne praised Siddiqur as "an excellent chef who helps come up with the recipes for the menu" and she said: “Many congratulations to Bombay Pickles for winning my poll and I am delighted this great restaurant will represent Stourbridge in the regional finals.

“If they are successful then I will have the pleasure of seeing them at Westminster in the summer for the grand final.

“I wish them all the best."

The MP thanked everyone who took part in the poll and added: "We have some very good South Asian restaurants in our town."

Mohammed added: “We are delighted to receive the recognition for the Tiffin Cup awards.

"We would like to extend our gratitude to Suzanne Webb and our lovely customers for the nomination and hope to continue to provide excellent and quality South Asian cuisine to Stourbridge.”

The Tiffin Cup to find the best South Asian Restaurant in the UK is this year celebrating its 15th anniversary.

The grand final will be judged by MPs and celebrity guests.

The panel this year will be chaired by top chef Ainsley Harriott.

Bombay Pickles has a customer rating of 4.6 out of 5 on Google and 4.5 on Tripadvisor.
