STOURBRIDGE MP Suzanne Webb and West Midlands Mayor Andy Street have met with Corbett Meadow Action Group following the planning refusal to build 84 homes on the site.
The pair spoke with local councillors Pete Lee and Paul Bradley and Eddy Morton and Michael Liley from the campaign group on Friday to congratulate them on their hard work and discuss next steps.
The meadow, off Vicarage Road, Amblecote, which is owned by the Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust, was recently designated as a Site of Importance for Nature Conservation (SINC).
Suzanne Webb said: “I was really pleased Andy came along to meet the councillors and group members as they all worked very hard to rally local objections to the development.”
“Whilst we have this win, the developers may lodge an appeal within six months so the campaign is not yet over.
"It is important that we continue to oppose any development on the meadow working together as a community to do this.”
