UPDATE: West Midlands Fire Service has since confirmed the sad news that three dogs and a hamster died as a result of the fire
TWO dogs have been confirmed to have died after a severe fire at a house in Wollescote.
The incident happened in Spring Street last night (Monday February 13) at around 5pm.
Fire crews, police and the ambulance service attended the blaze which a fire service spokesperson described as “severe”.
The fire affected the ground floor and first floor of the two-storey end terraced house.
West Midlands Fire Service said on Twitter that firefighters had used breathing apparatus to enter the property and inside they found two deceased dogs.
A spokesperson said at 6.40pm that the fire had been brought under control and all persons were accounted for.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesperson confirmed no one was injured in the blaze but the service had sent an ambulance and paramedic officer to the scene.
