DUDLEY'S new highways chief has said engineers are taking action to identify potholes and defects on the borough's roads caused by last week's snow and ice.
Freezing temperatures and snow fall is likely to have caused cracks and holes in road surfaces so teams will be out and about repairing the most serious potholes and carry out patching work, Dudley Council has promised.
People can report potholes online.
Councillor Damian Corfield, the authority's new cabinet member for highways and environment, said: "We have teams out and about all through the year to identify road surface defects, but with the snow and ice last week there is likely to be significant damage to the highways.
"I have asked for this to be addressed immediately to identify problem areas and make repairs as soon as possible.
"Clearly, the damage will not be repaired overnight and I would ask people to bear with us. But we are making this a priority."
