MEMBERS of Stourbridge’s Got 2 Sing choir entered into the spirit of Comic Relief, raising smiles and money by wearing red noses and Mr Men and Little Miss T-shirts and costumes at their rehearsals this week.
Together with its sister choirs across the region, the group raised a grand total of £939.92 for the annual charity fundraising initiative.
Charlotte Crowe, choir leader at Stourbridge Got 2 Sing, said: "Red Nose Day, as it is famously known, gives us a wonderful opportunity to have a little fun and raise funds for this amazing charity.”
She added: “It's good to know we have played a part in funding some incredible projects, in the UK and around the world to tackle projects which address poverty and injustice.
“In between the giggles we still managed to have a very productive rehearsal and I feel extremely blessed to have such fantastic members who are happy to enter into the spirit.”
Stourbridge Got 2 Sing is one of 14 Got 2 Sing adult choirs which span the West Midlands, Worcestershire, Shropshire, Herefordshire, Derbyshire and Gloucestershire.
The Stourbridge choir meets every Thursday at Hagley RC High School in Brake Lane, Hagley.
