A DISPERSAL order has been put in place after reports of off-road bikes and quad bikes being ridden dangerously by The Dell Stadium where a memorial was being held for tragic motorcyclist Pauly Skidmore who lost his life in a road crash.

Huge crowds gathered outside the stadium where a balloon release was held this afternoon (Sunday March 26) to pay tribute to 19-year-old motorbike rider Pauly who died after a crash involving a van on Stream Road, Kingswinford, on March 21.

The team at fishing tackle and bait shop RD Tackle in Brierley Hill said they'd "never seen anything quite like it" as they shared a video of the gathering.

Police, however, reported receiving numerous calls from residents in the area about off-road and quad bikes being ridden dangerously.

Traffic officers and drones have been deployed to the area and a dispersal order has now been put in place until midnight, Dudley Police said this afternoon amid concerns for public safety.

A police spokesperson said: “We are aware and respectful of the vigil, but we have had numerous calls from local residents of off-road and quad bikes being ridden dangerously.

"We have traffic officers, drones and other resources in the area and we have put a dispersal order in place until midnight tonight to ensure the safety of the public.

“Anyone riding anti-socially risks being prosecuted and their vehicle being seized.”

The spokesperson added: “We are asking any family members aware of those taking part who are riding dangerously to encourage them to stop as we are concerned for public safety.

“We don’t take these decisions lightly, but this behaviour is unacceptable.”
