LAUGHTER yoga instructor ‘Merrie’ Maggie Thompson is inviting people in Stourbridge to take giggling to another level to celebrate World Laughter Day.
Every year, all around the world on the first Sunday in May, laughter yoga devotees laugh to promote world peace on World Laughter Day.
The tradition was started in 1998 by Dr Madan Kataria - founder of the Laughter Yoga Movement - and it has continued every year since.
This year’s event will take place on Sunday May 7 from 11am at The Hub Building in Mary Stevens Park, Stourbridge.
The session is free to attend and will last one hour. To reserve a spot go to the Eventbrite website.
Maggie said: “We practice Laughter Yoga, which combines laughter exercises with deep breathing. It is an aerobic exercise and leaves participants feeling energised, uplifted and connected to each other.
“We shall meet by the hub building and, weather permitting, will run the session in the open air beside the building. If the weather is not good, we shall be inside the building for the session.”
