ABANDONED bungalows in Brierley Hill which have been targeted in a series of arson attacks are "uninhabitable" according to Dudley Council.
The empty properties in Bushway Close are owned by the council.
Firefighters said earlier this month that they have been "experiencing a high number" of deliberate fires at the empty bungalows on Bushway Close and appealed for anyone with information to contact police so that the culprits can be identified and to help prevent any future fires.
The call prompted people to wonder why the homes are being left to deteriorate and become targets for arsonists when there is a shortage of council properties in the borough.
Kathryn Jones, director of housing and communities at Dudley Council, said: “The bungalows on Bushway Close are Dudley Council properties.
"They have significant longstanding and complex structural issues, which makes the homes uninhabitable.
“We are looking at a long-term solution for the homes.”
