A PLOT of land next to Mary Stevens Park in Norton, Stourbridge, has been put on the market for £400,000.
The site, off Norton Road – next to One Stop, is being offered for sale by Stourbridge-based Lex Allan Grove.
The freehold plot is described as a “development opportunity” in a highly sought after location, close to transport links and amenities.
Sales particulars on Rightmove state: “The land doesn't currently have planning consent but there is potential for a block of apartments or a mixed-use development.”
A plan to build a three-storey block of eight one-bedroom apartments was previously proposed for the site but Dudley planning officers refused permission for the scheme in March 2021 saying it would be overly prominent and out of character for the area.
An appeal was later lodged with the Government’s Planning Inspectorate but that was also rejected.
Anyone interested in the site can contact Les Allen Grove.
