A FORMER Great British Bake Off contestant is to put in an appearance at a Stourbridge primary school’s summer festival this weekend.
Terry Hartill is set to make guest appearance at St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School’s Joechella summer festival on Saturday July 1.
The event will run at the Lea Vale Road school from 11am to 3pm and Terry will be arriving at midday.
The former Bake Off contestant will be the celebrity judge at the Norton school’s popular summer funday.
The retired air steward, who lives in Wordsley, finished in eighth place in the ninth series of the popular Channel 4 baking competition in 2018.
He was eliminated during ‘spice week’ but won viewers’ hearts after revealing the competition had helped him cope with the death of his wife just months earlier.
Terry will be judging the Joechella baking competition and has also pledged to donate his own ‘showstopper’ creation as a raffle prize at the festival, which has been organised by the school’s Parent Teacher Association and is its biggest fundraiser of the year.
Marie Duffy, chairperson of the PTA, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Terry to Joechella this year – hopefully the atmosphere will be much less intimidating than the GBBO tent!
“The festival will be packed with entertainment, fun and games for all ages throughout the day.”
Bakers wishing to have their creations judged by Terry can take along their cakes between 11am and midday.
Everyone is welcome at the festival throughout the day.
