THOUSANDS of people turned out to enjoy live music, comedy and entertainment as Black Country Musicom returned to Himley Hall and Park at the weekend.
Due to high winds, the council took the difficult decision to postpone Saturday’s Dance Anthems and Club Classics, which had been due to feature sets from Seb Fontaine, Tall Paul Stuart Ojelay, Jim ‘Shaft’ Ryan, Ultra 90s and Andy Gulch.
But Sunday’s line-up saw the park come alive with the sounds of top tribute acts.
Artists and bands paying tribute to The Rolling Stones, Madonna, Coldplay, UB40, ELO, The Eagles and Harry Styles took centre stage along with covers band Let’s Rock The 70s who performed the decade’s greatest hits from the likes of Queen, Status Quo, Elton John and David Bowie.
Top comedians and local bands also performed in the comedy and acoustic tent.
Councillor Patrick Harley, leader of Dudley Council, said: “It’s great so many people came out to enjoy music from top tribute acts and comedians alongside our local talent.
“We were extremely disappointed Saturday’s Dance Anthems and Club Classics event, like many other events nationally and locally, could not go ahead due to the high winds forecast.
“But I want to say a massive thank you to the acts and performers who put on such an amazing show and to everyone who came along and brought a festival atmosphere to the park.”
All Saturday ticket holders will be contacted via See Tickets in the coming days with further information about the postponed Dance Anthems and Club Classics show.
