STRICTLY Come Dancing star Amy Dowden’s show at Stourbridge Town Hall has been cancelled due to her ongoing cancer treatment.
Amy, who runs Art in Motion dance studio in Cradley, revealed in May that she had been diagnosed with stage three breast cancer at the age of just 32.
She had been due to team up with jazz and blues musician Tom Seals for a special night in Stourbridge this Friday (July 21) which would have been Amy picking her favourite songs to be performed by pianist and vocalist Seals and his backing band.
But due to her continuing health battle, the dance star, who has been a professional on BBC’s Strictly since 2018, is unable to take to the stage for the Tom Seals Presents Amy Dowden event.
A spokesperson for Dudley Borough Halls said: “Due to Amy's ongoing treatment, she is sadly no longer able to make this engagement.
“Our thoughts are with Amy at this difficult time, and we send her our very best wishes for a full and speedy recovery.
“We'll contact everyone directly to arrange a full refund. Please bear with us and we'll be in touch as soon as possible.
“Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused by the late notice of this cancellation.”
