THERE were celebrations at Quarry Bank Tennis Club and a visit from the Deputy Lieutenant of the West Midlands when the club hosted its annual Open Championships.
The tournament, a celebration of sportsmanship, competition, and community spirit, included men’s and ladies’ singles and doubles competitions plus a mixed doubles category.
Deputy Lieutenant of the West Midlands, Gurpreet Bhatia, attended the event along with Dudley South MP Mike Wood, and representatives from the Aashiana charity which sponsored the championships, held on September 17.
Club membership secretary Stacey Billingham said: "The Open Championships are a testament to the dedication and passion of our members and the enduring spirit of tennis in our community.
“We are immensely grateful to Aashiana charity for their generous sponsorship, and to Deputy Lieutenant Gurpreet Bhatia, Mike Wood MP, and all our supporters for making this event a remarkable success."
