PEDMORE Cricket Club has been celebrating after winning a hat trick of awards.
Worcester County League awarded the club the coveted Pitch of the Year accolade at the end of season awards dinner at Stourport Manor on Friday October 13.
Head groundsman Andrew Smith also picked up the award for Groundsman of the Year; and first XI captain Matt Porter won the Fair Play award for his role model behaviour – epitomising the spirit of cricket.
The club, in Pedmore Hall Lane, has gone from strength to strength of late, coming runners up in Division One, and winning promotion to Worcester County’s Premier league.
Vice chairman Paul Meakin said: “We are extremely proud to have been recognised by Worcester County League for our team’s efforts this season.
“Our first XI captain, Matt Porter, winning the league Fair Play award demonstrates what a positive role model he is, and our grounds team works tirelessly to maintain the standards of our pitch.
“As a club, we are proud to support not only senior cricket, but juniors from the ages of five upwards. We are honoured to be a such huge part of our local community.”
