A GRASSY area in Amblecote has been turned into a sea of poppies for Remembrance thanks to a team of volunteers with disabilities.
Amblecote councillors Kamran Razzaq, Paul Bradley and Pete Lee unveiled the display in Hillfields Road which has been created by service users and staff from Queen’s Cross Network.
Last year people who attend the network created a waterfall of poppies made from plastic bottles for display at Holy Trinity Church.
This time, their project for Remembrance Day has seen 2,023 plastic poppies crafted and installed by junction of Kirkstone Way and Vicarage Road.
The eye-catching display pays tribute to fallen soldiers and those who continue to serve in the armed forces.
Cllr Razzaq said: “We wanted to do something unique in Amblecote to dedicate to our fallen heroes, we just want to say a massive thank you to Paul Astley and his amazing team at Queens Cross for creating all of the 2,023 poppies.”
