MCDONALD’S at Merry Hill has reopened after a restaurant redesign, which aims to boost the customer experience.
Owned and operated by local franchisee, Jon Swaby, the Merry Hill restaurant on The Boulevard is one of the first in Dudley to showcase a ‘Convenience of the Future’ redesign.
The restaurant chain’s ambitious revamp programme combines a new restaurant layout with latest technology to create a more seamless and enjoyable experience for diners looking for greater speed, efficiency and choice when ordering food.
Improvements have also been made for staff. A redesign of the crew rooms will create a more relaxing and comfortable space for staff members to take a break.
Jon Swaby, who owns and operates two McDonald’s restaurants in Dudley, said: “I’m proud to reinvest for our customers and team in our Merry Hill restaurant. The dining area is much more contemporary with the ‘Lunar’ style design.
“It’s exciting to see the fresh new look and feel of our restaurant and I’m confident this new look as well as the changes behind the counter will not only benefit our customers experience but also our staff, who have all been very complementary about the changes behind the scenes that will make their job a little easier.”
The redesign aims to better integrate digital sales channels, the McDonald’s App and make smarter use of internal space to enhance the dine-in experience.
With dedicated areas for the different ways to order, and the removal of the front counters, McDonald’s bosses hope the new look will offer customers a more efficient way to order and more space to enjoy their meal.
Gareth Pearson, McDonald’s UK&I COO, said: “The pace of change within the restaurant industry is relentless, and the pandemic accelerated this with digital adoption gathering greater pace.
“Our customers rightly expect to have choice in how and where they order and collect their food, and our job is to ensure that every experience is a great one.
“For this to be the case, we know we also have to provide our restaurant teams and delivery partners with the best possible environment to work in.
“We strongly believe we have to continue to invest to grow, and this investment not only addresses how customers are ordering now but provides us with a platform to continue to adapt in the future, whatever that innovation looks like.”
