A STOURBRIDGE artist has put the finishing touches to a community project in Wordsley to brighten up a run-down youth shelter.
The Friends of Wordsley Parks was awarded cash from Creative Black Country (funded by Arts Council England) to redesign the shelter on Wordsley Park.
Stourbridge artist Cal, who transformed run-down looking changing rooms in Swanpool Park, Norton, was drafted in to lead the project - supported by Wordsley councillor Kerry Lewis.
The Norton-based multi-media artist created the design and staged a workshop for families at an event run by the Friends during October half-term.
Cal said: “I have really enjoyed creating this artwork for the Friends of Wordsley Park group, they are such a passionate group and a credit to their community. This painting has been a pleasure to create.”
Cllr Lewis praised the artwork and said: “The shelter has been neglected over the years, thanks to Cal and his unique artwork - the shelter is looking fantastic.”
