PEOPLE in Dudley and Stourbridge town centres have been getting into the festive spirit at Christmas lights switch on events.
Seasonal events, organised by Dudley Council, were held on Saturday November 25 to coincide with the lights being switched on in both towns.
In Dudley, shoppers were treated to live performances and a free pantomime, street entertainment and a children’s fun fair before the Mayor of Dudley, Councillor Andrea Goddard, joined Mr Grinch to turn on the lights.
In Stourbridge, Elf and the Deputy of Mayor of Dudley, Councillor Pete Lee, did the honours after a day of entertainment including live performances, street entertainers, a Christmas market, craft sessions and a free pantomime.
Councillor Andrea Goddard, Dudley’s Mayor, said: “It’s been great to see so many people enjoying the festive fun and I hope they’ve been able to support some of our local businesses while in the town centres.”
Sedgley’s Christmas lights were switch on yesterday (Sunday November 26).
Community-led festive events will in Wordsley on Saturday December 2, and Kingswinford on Sunday December 3.
