PUBGOERS have been expressing their sadness at the closure of a Peaky Blinders themed micro bar at The Waterfront in Brierley Hill which has closed its doors after five years of trading.
The Garrison Saloon Bar has ceased trading – a post on the bar’s Facebook page confirmed on April 14.
It read: “It's with heavy hearts that we are closing our doors. This was not a decision that we made lightly, and we wanted to take a moment to say a big thank you to all of our amazing customers and staff who have made the past five years at The Garrison so special.
“We've had countless unforgettable memories together, and it's been an incredible journey.
“As we say farewell for now, we want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for making The Garrison such a special place.”
Signing off with a “goodbye for now”, the post said it is hoped that there will be a new venture at The Waterfront and added: “Some of us might have a little something up our sleeves – so keep a little eye out.”
The popular pub, which hosted live music events and served a selection of real ales, had a 4.7 out of 5 customer rating on Google.
Fans and punters have spoken of their sorrow at its closure, with one describing it as “such sad news” and Britain’s Got Talent finalist Amy Lou Smith, from Tipton, said: “I’m devastated my favourite place to gig. I wish you all the best xx I’ll miss you very much. So gutted.”
Others said they had “lovely memories” of nights out and gigs at the venue, located in Waterfront East.
Another upset fan of the bar said: "Oh what a shame it’s such a lovely little place with a great atmosphere."
