AN ELDERLY cat who is so lonely he cries when he is left in his pen at night is seeking a "special human" to give him his forever home.

Murphy's foster carer Jemma Powell-Tibbetts shared a video of his heart-breaking meows.

She hoped it would find him an owner so that he could "cuddle up to his favourite human on an evening" but sadly no-one has come forward. 

Murphy, who is around 15, was in an awful state with a chronic flea allergy and upset tummy when he came into the care of Stourbridge and District RSPCA after his owner passed away and his family couldn't keep him.

The charity, which has nursed him back to health, is desperately seeking someone to adopt Murphy "to make a difference to his life and love him for as long as he has left."

A spokesperson for Stourbridge and District RSPCA said: "Murph is now looking for a home to call his own and a warm sofa to snuggle up on.

"Sadly he has been with us far too long and is struggling with loneliness.

"This boy does not deserve to be in a foster cabin, in his golden years he needs to be cuddling up to his favourite human on an evening and enjoying an abundance of company.

"His remaining days should not be spent in foster care.

"Whilst we give all we can, it is absolutely no substitute for a home.

"We are looking for a super special human who will make a difference to Murph’s life and love him for as long as he has left."

The charity will do an "assisted adoption" for Murphy and will continue to cover any future vets bills.

Murphy's new home must be indoor only as Murph is believed to be deaf.

The home would need to be near to Kidderminster, Stourbridge or Dudley where the charity's vets are based. Murphy would ideally be the only animal, but any application will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
