HAGLEY care home The Gables hosted a party to celebrate resident Freda Chatfield turning 103-years-old.
The party attended by Freda’s family, fellow residents and care team members on May 3, was followed with a luncheon for close family in the care home private dining room.
Freda, who has been a resident at The Gables in Bennett Drive for the past six months, is originally from Gosport near Portsmouth and moved to Hagley to be near family in Kinver.
She has lived through many historic events, including World War II during which time she worked at the Ministry of Defence Offices (MOD).
Julie Weaver, general manager at The Gables, said: “It was wonderful for all the residents and care staff to be able to celebrate such an impressive birthday with Freda and her family.
“According to the latest ONS data only 0.02 per cent of the UK population is over 100, so having a resident who is celebrating turning 103 is truly special.”
