PASSENGERS travelling with West Midlands Railway are being reminded that timetable changes come into effect this weekend.

From Sunday (June 2), WMR will be making a number of changes to services, impacting the Snow Hill line which goes through Kidderminster, Old Hill, Lye,  Hagley and Blakedown. 

The Shrewsbury Line will also be affected. 

Changes on the Snow Hill Lines include:

• Services terminating at Kidderminster will now routinely call at Langley Green, Old Hill and Lye, but will no longer call at Hagley and Blakedown.

• Services terminating in Worcester will now call routinely call at Hagley and Blakedown but will no longer call at Langley Green, Old Hill and Lye.

• The times of the Stourbridge Town shuttle will be slightly amended to align with new timings of services at Stourbridge Junction.

Changes on the Shrewsbury Line include:

• An additional service every hour between Birmingham and Shrewsbury which will operate from Monday to Saturday. Between Wolverhampton and Shrewsbury the service will call at Shifnal, Telford Central and Wellington, providing faster journeys to/from Birmingham

• Journey times between Wolverhampton and Walsall will be reduced (via a connection at Tame Bridge Parkway)

• Journey times from Bilbrook, Codsall, Albrighton, Cosford and Oakengates will increase slightly, and departure times will also change

Jonny Wiseman, WMR customer experience director, said: “Timetables are changing on Sunday 2 June and I urge passengers to double-check their travel plans as timings may have changed.

"The timetable has been developed with feedback from passengers and communities taken into account and the changes have been brought in to provide passengers with a more robust and better-performing overall service.”
