SWIFT action by police saw a man arrested within hours of a burglary in Stourbridge.

Cash and a laptop was reportedly stolen from a home on Oakfield Road on Wednesday evening (May 29).

Enquiries soon after the incident at 6pm led to a suspect being identified and arrested just after 8pm on the night.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Police said: "We arrested a man within hours of a burglary in Stourbridge following prompt enquiries by our officers.

"We were alerted to a break-in where cash and a laptop were taken from a home in Oakfield Road at around 6pm yesterday.

"Following quick-time enquiries we identified a suspect and arrested a 34-year-old man in Stourbridge at just after 8pm. He remains in custody for questioning.

"We fully understand the devastating impact burglary can have on those affected whether in their home or business environment. We'll always look to identify and arrest suspects".
