FIREFIGHTERS were called to a garden fire that was left unattended in Wollaston at the weekend.

The incident happened in Meriden Avenue just after midday on Saturday June 1.

Firefighters were reportedly on the scene within a few minutes of receiving the emergency call.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Fire Service said: "Firefighters from Stourbridge and Brierley Hill fire stations responded to Meriden Avenue just before 12.25pm on Saturday.

"The first arrived four minutes after being mobilised.

"It appears that a garden fire had been left unattended, so our crews used a hose reel to extinguish it before giving safety advice to a person at the address."
