A QUACKING start to the summer is promised at The Waterfront this weekend when The Black Country Duck Race and Family Festival takes place.
The event, to raise money for The Mary Stevens Hospice, will be held on Sunday June 30, with fun and activities kicking off at midday and the duck race itself getting underway at 3pm.
James Totney, community and events fundraiser at the hospice, said: “Following the success of last year's Duck Race at The Waterfront, we are thrilled to be back! We’ve got a day of fun activities planned to keep the whole family entertained.”
The event will also include live entertainment, stalls and street food from Digbeth Dining Club.
James added: “We can’t thank our community enough for turning out in force each year to help us raise funds so we can continue to provide our vital services now and in the future.
“Without them and the continued support of local businesses, we would be unable to reach the £3.5 million we need to raise each year.”
People can buy a duck for £3 online via the hospice website or buy them at the event on the day – subject to availability.
