CONSERVATIVE MP Mike Wood has thanked voters after he was comfortably re-elected in the new Kingswinford and South Staffordshire seat.
Mr Wood, who previously represented the now-defunct Dudley South constituency, held the seat with a majority of more than 6,000 over Labour's Sally Benton.
He is now the sole Conservative MP in the Dudley borough, after the neighbouring Dudley, Halesowen and Stourbridge seats all fell to Labour.
Mr Wood said on social media: "A huge thank you to everybody who voted on Thursday, and to the many people who have sent me kind messages this week.
"It is an enormous honour to have been elected to represent Kingswinford & South Staffordshire in Parliament and I will do everything that I can to repay the trust that so many people have put in me."
