THE case of a Quarry Bank man charged with possession of a firearm has been sent for trial at crown court.
Alan Payne, of Lawnsdown Road, appeared before Wolverhampton Magistrates’ Court on Saturday July 27.
The 42-year-old was arrested on Friday July 26 and charged under the Firearms Act 1968 with possession of a firearm, namely a revolver, without the authority of the Secretary of State.
The arrest came after West Midlands Police swooped on a property in Lawnsdown Road in Quarry Bank as part of the force’s crackdown on weapons.
Payne was given unconditional bail to await an appearance at Wolverhampton Crown Court on August 3.
