A PLAN has been submitted to increase the height of a roof to create an additional flat above an existing first floor flat in Brierley Hill High Street.
A planning application has been submitted to Dudley Council seeking permission for alterations to 36a High Street.
A heritage statement on the council’s planning website states: “The applicant seeks to bring to fruition an additional dwelling in times of chronic under supply of homes. Locally there is a market demand for the type of dwelling being proposed and the new flat would broadly comprise a similar layout to the existing first floor flat below.”
A heritage assessment was required due to the site’s proximity to a listed building and the conservation area designation.
Anyone wishing to make representations should write to Helen Martin, director of regeneration and enterprise, 4 Ednam Road, Dudley, DY1 1HL or comment via the council’s planning portal (application number P24/0809) by the August 26 deadline.
