VILLAGERS and beer lovers can enjoy a pint at a beer festival taking place at the re-opened Wollaston Village Hall this weekend.
The hall, off Bridgnorth Road, Wollaston, Stourbridge, has been closed since 2019, but with a new committee in place it is now hosting regular and one-off events.
This Bank Holiday weekend it will host a beer festival organised by Andy Smith, former licensee of The Plough.
The festival will start on Friday August 23 at 6pm, running until 9pm, and it will be open on Saturday August 24 from 1pm to 9pm, Sunday August 25 from 1pm to 9pm, plus Bank Holiday Monday August 26 from 1pm until 6pm.
Andy, who organised beer festivals at The Plough for 18 years, said: “There will be 10 real ales from local breweries like Green Duck, Enville Ales, Kinver Brewery, Bewdley Brewery plus many more, plus a gin and prosecco festival, and live music through the weekend including Busking for Charity on Sunday from 4pm to 8pm.”
He said he's hoping the event will prove as popular as previous festivals held at The Plough.
Street food will also be available at the event.
Entry is free.
A Sizzlin’ Summer Fayre will also be held on Saturday August 31, from 11am to 3pm, with free entry.
Booking enquiries for the hall can be made by calling 07775 753088 or emailing sandrajones414@yahoo.com
