A NEW hidden gem of a tea room has opened in Stourbridge town centre.
Truly Scrumptious Tea Room has taken over the former Stuffed by Cartwright unit in Victoria Passage.
Stourbridge mum Charlie Mainprice, who runs Truly Scrumptious Boutique, said opening the tea room next door to the gift shop she opened last October had "fulfilled her dream."
The 38-year-old married mum-of-three said: "Without the support of Stourbridge and the community, this would never have happened.
"It's been a labour of love.
"It's been my dream to have a little tea shop.
"It's got a Secret Garden/ Alice In Wonderland vibe - it's hidden away - that's the brilliant thing about it, that we are off the beaten track."
The tea room sells cakes freshly hand-baked by Charlie and local bakers as well as Cornish pasties, gourmet sausage rolls, sandwiches and toasties.
In the autumn it will sell artisan bread sourced from a local sourdough baker.
Charlie moved to Stourbridge from Clevedon in 2021 as the family relocated for her husband's work.
She stepped away from the corporate world - leaving her job as head of marketing and communication in Birmingham to open Truly Scrumptious Boutique last year.
The shop, which is dog-friendly, sells a variety of goodies such as jewellery, scarves, chocolates and other gifts as well as Stourbridge artist Stacy Hammond's drawings of the local area.
Charlie finds time to be active in the community and is chair of Stourbridge Business Watch along with Ryemarket manager Aaron Powell, part of Stourbridge BID's steering group and a parent governor at Redhill School.
She said: "I'm trying to be as supportive and involved with the community as I can be.
"Stourbridge is a wonderful place."
The team room is open from 9am till 4pm Tuesday to Saturday.
It is also available for private hire on Sundays and weekday evenings, with community events such as Christmas wreath making sessions planned.
