A FIRE broke out at behind shops in Brierley Hill High Street in the early house of this morning (Tuesday September 10).
Firefighters attended the fire behind King's Barbers and Bostin' Hardware at around 00.20am.
Four fire engines went to the scene with the fire in an extension spanning the two mixed-use buildings, believed to have been started accidentally.
The road was closed while emergency services dealt with the scene.
A spokesman for West Midlands Fire Service said: "At 00.20am in the early hours of Tuesday 10 September we responded to a fire behind premises on High Street, Brierley Hill.
"Four fire engines were sent to the scene, the first arriving within two minutes of being mobilised.
"The fire, which is believed to have started accidentally, involved an extension spanning the rear of two mid-terrace, mixed-use buildings.
"Around half of the extension was affected by the fire, but firefighters wearing breathing apparatus and using hose reels had it under control by 1.40am.
"The road was closed for safety while we dealt with the incident."
