MOTORISTS are reminded that changes to charges on council-owned car parks across the borough come into force from tomorrow (Tuesday October 1).
Two hours of free parking will no longer be available on Dudley Council's pay and display car parks, although parking will remain free from 7pm to 7am.
Charges will apply from 7am to 7pm, starting from £1.20 to £1.80 for an hour depending on the car park. The price for parking for two hours will be £2.50 and charges will rise from £2 to £3 for three hours, £3 to £4 for four hours and £5 to £6 for an all-day ticket.
The move to reinstate charges was confirmed in a vote by full council last month.
It is expected to raise more than £3.5 million over the next three years, as the local authority looks to raise nearly £40 million to improve the council’s dire financial situation.
