STRICTLY Come Dancing star Amy Dowden is heading to Dudley to host a one-off special performance in the name of a national breast cancer charity.

Amy will headline the show alongside fellow Strictly pro, Carlos Gu, which will take place at Dudley Town Hall on May 22 next year.

All of the funds raised from the show’s ticket sales will be donated to the charity CoppaFeel!, a national charity dedicated to educating young people about how to check their chests for signs and symptoms of breast cancer.

Amy has been open about her own battle with the disease, having been diagnosed with stage three breast cancer in May 2023.

She has been an advocate on social media for those living with breast cancer and has most recently partnered with supermarket chain ASDA to create a ‘tickled pink t-shirt’ to raise money for CoppaFeel! and Breast Cancer Now.

The ‘Tickled Pink’ campaign will run throughout October, which marks Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

She will be embarking on a nationwide tour with Carlos prior to this charity show that kicks off in Birmingham on March 10 2025.

Speaking about Amy and Carlos’ show, Director of Fundraising at CoppaFeel!, Joanna MacSween said: “We are absolutely delighted, and incredibly grateful, that Amy and Carlos are coming together to channel their dazzling energy into a fabulous fundraiser for CoppaFeel!.

“At CoppaFeel!, we aim to encourage, educate and empower ALL young people to check their chests because we want all breast cancers in young people to be diagnosed early and accurately, so that treatments are more effective and survival rates higher.

“Too many young lives are lost to breast cancer - we exist to change that story.

“Amy has been a wonderful supporter of CoppaFeel! getting people of all ages to check their chests and be aware of the signs and symptoms of breast cancer.

“Thank you Amy and Carlos!”

Amy will be supported by local dance schools from across the West Midlands, including her students from Art in Motion Dance Academy in Cradley, which she founded in 2016.

Also supporting the show will be Dudley’s Bailey Ariyah Academy of Dance, Birmingham’s Sorella Academy of Dance in and Wolverhampton’s Marilyn Harris School of Dance (MHSOD), as well as Lloyd Griffiths.

Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased from Dudley Town Hall’s website.
