AN EXTREME Halloween attraction is so scary that visitors have to sign a two-page waiver before they go in.

People brave enough to try the Enola experience at Walsall Scare Maze’s 2024 Halloween event have to agree to suffer electric shocks, have their hair cut, waxed or shaved and may have clothing removed.

Dubbed the “the UK’s most disgusting experience", the attraction has gone viral on social media for pushing thrill-seeking visitors to their limits.

The experience is a strictly 18+ addition to this year’s main attraction, ‘The Haunting of Amelia Birchhill’ – a haunted house offering less controversial jump-scares and horrors.

Visitors must sign the waiver to agree that they could be subjected to a long list of torments including muscle stimulation machines, insects and even eating.

Aside from the warnings listed in the waiver, what visitors can expect from the experience has been kept under wraps, with the anxiety adding to the fear factor.

The scares are so extreme that visitors are given a safe word before embarking on the horrifying experience which can be used at any time to immediately stop the attraction should it become too much to handle.

The award-winning team behind Walsall Scare Maze, on Birchills Street, have been scaring the West Midlands for several years, with the mission of bringing more extreme, US-style experiences to the UK.

Speaking on the incredible public reaction to Enola, CEO Mathew Lee said: “We didn’t expect it to blow up this much.

“We knew having an attraction this extreme would be a controversial risk, but it was a risk worth taking.

“People are always wanting something more – an experience that is scarier and more extreme.

“It’s out of the box, twisted and bizarre, but it’s about testing how far your fight and flight response will go!”

Mr Lee has spent 15 years in the horror industry and, having done several ‘extreme’ scare experiences around the world himself, said he wanted to create an entire production rather than just a maze “you walk in and out of in 10 minutes.”

He praised the “incredible” actors who bring the experience to life and said people don’t expect something like this from in UK, let alone in a town like Walsall.

He said: “For the UK, this is pretty extreme.

“People have come out saying they feel euphoric, like they have pushed boundaries they didn’t realise they had.

“We have had all sorts of people come and try it out, the oldest being a 75-year-old woman who said she’s doing it all over again!

“You only live once, so why not?”

For the bravest out there, The Haunting of Amelia Birchhill and the Enola experiences are running until November 2, with a handful of tickets will available.

Tickets for the Enola experience can only be purchased on the door, subject to availability, in addition to a general admission ticket to the main attraction.
