THE borough’s popular Himley Fireworks event went with a bang last night (Saturday November 2), attracting 18,000 visitors.
The event at Himley Hall and Park, which had a ‘splash of colour’ theme this year, featured a sparkling 30-minute pyrotechnic show timed to music, plus a night market, street entertainers, fun fair and food and drink stalls.
The traditional bonfire was missing from this year’s event, due to difficulties obtaining pallets.
However, the crowds still turned out in droves to enjoy the event organised by Dudley Council in association with property investment training firm Your Freedom Empire.
Councillor Paul Bradley, deputy leader of Dudley Council, said: “I’d like to say a huge thank you to our sponsors and everyone involved in organising another fantastic event.
“I’m delighted so many people came to the park to support Himley Fireworks. It has provided a wonderful evening of entertainment, and once again the best fireworks display for miles around.”
