THE crowds turned out for the third annual third annual Stourbridge Military Vehicle Parade for Remembrance.
The event, organised by Stourbridge resident and military vehicle fan David Spruce to support the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal, brought hundreds of people into the town this morning (Saturday November 9).
Tanks, trucks and jeeps from all over the Midlands featured in the parade, the biggest to date, which was led by The Shirley Pipe Band and dignitaries including the Mayor of Dudley – Councillor Hilary Bills and husband and consort John.
The procession, which started at 11am, began at the top of the High Street, winding through Market Street and Bell Street, onto the ring road, finishing up at Stourbridge’s Bonded Warehouse in Canal Street where the vehicles were later displayed.
Traditional Remembrance Sunday parades and services will be taking place across the borough on Sunday November 10 in Stourbridge (Mary Stevens Park), Lye, Wall Heath, Wordsley, Kingswinford, Pensnett, Brierley Hill, Quarry Bank, Sedgley, Lower Gornal, Halesowen, Cradley and Dudley.
