A CLOSURE order has been issued for a property in Norton following two incidents in which the bomb squad was alerted.
An application for a three-month closure order for 38A The Broadway was approved at Dudley Magistrates’ Court on Monday November 11, court documents confirm.
The closure was granted under the ‘Anti-social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014’ and means the occupant, Sean Soley, aged 37, will be unable to return to the property for three months.
The application was brought by Dudley Council and comes after the Army's Explosive Ordnance Disposal team was called to the property January 4 this year and again on September 17 after suspicious items were found.
The council has been contacted for further comment.
West Midlands Police said investigations regarding suspicious items found at the property continue.
A spokesperson for the force said a man arrested in connection with the September incident was “released on police bail with strict conditions while our investigation continues”.
