A man from Halesowen is one of six people that have been arrested following a major drug seizure at Birmingham International Airport.
National Crime Agency officers made the arrests on Monday (November 11) after seizing suitcases containing around 180 kilos of cocaine.
Six people, including two men and three women from Bradford, West Yorkshire, and a man from Halesowen, were questioned by NCA investigators before being charged with conspiring to import Class A drugs.
Those charged include:
Aamir Shaffaq Mohammed, aged 27, of Waterlilly Road, Bradford.
Umair Shaffaq Mohammed, aged 21, of Waterlilly Road, Bradford.
Safa Noor, aged 19, of Waterlilly Road, Bradford.
Farzana Kauser, aged 53, of Waterlilly Road, Bradford.
Khaled Abdulkawi, aged 36, of Haden Road, Halesowen.
A 17-year-old female from Bradford, who cannot be named due to her age, has also been charged
They will appear before Birmingham Magistrates' Court later today (Wednesday, November 13).
Mick Pope, NCA branch commander, said: "This was a significant drug seizure which prevented Class A drugs worth many millions of pounds from reaching the hands of criminals in the UK.
"Illegal drugs like cocaine fuel violence and exploitation in our communities and we are determined to do all we can to protect the public by targeting those involved in their supply."
