STARBUCKS is set to open its new store in Stourbridge High Street today (Thursday November 14), creating nine new jobs.
The new store in the High Street will feature a simplified menu, focusing on core products, and a streamlined bar area with relaxed seating available and it will offer a 25p discount to customers who bring a reusable cup for their drink.
The store will also offer bookable space at no extra cost for customers who wish to get together with their book club or to hold a study session, with the option of having food and drinks brought to the table.
Shawn Devonport, regional operations manager, Starbucks UK, said: “We are delighted to open our new store in Stourbridge and are proud to offer an exciting new bookable space for the local community to use and make our space their own.
"This opening reflects Starbucks commitment to creating welcoming, community coffee houses where people can gather and connect over a delicious cup of handcrafted coffee served by our talented baristas.”
The new store will also be raising money for a raft of local causes.
Starbucks has a longstanding partnership with NHS Charities Together and profits made on opening day will be donated to the Dudley Group NHS Charity at Russells Hall Hospital, Dudley, which aims to help patients and staff.
High Oak Youth and Community Centre food bank will also receive food donations from Starbucks.
Partners/employees at the store will also support Stourbridge’s Riverside House project by donating used coffee grounds to encourage healthy soil at the education and eco site off Canal Street, as well as volunteering their time.
The new store will be open from 7am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday, 7am to 6pm on Saturdays and 9am to 5pm on Sundays.
The bookable space can be booked by speaking to store partner/employee.
Customers aged 18 and over can book the space in advance or on the day if it is available, by asking in store.
