THE best of the Black Country is being celebrated at Merry Hill at the newly relocated Black Country Hub.

Based in the centre since 2016, the Hub has moved to a new location, by Next on the upper mall.

It stocks a variety of clothing and merchandise, music from local performers and prints from artists including Stourbridge’s Janet Edwards.

General manager Dave Brownhill said: “It’s fantastic to see the Hub reopen and the support we’ve received from the public has been immeasurable.

“We’re really grateful to have worked with the team at Merry Hill to secure such a great location which means we can reach even more people who want to celebrate the Black Country and its community.

“The Hub is a great place to buy gifts, clothing and merchandise but also a literal hub of the community where we hope to hold events and themed evenings.

“I’d urge anyone to come and see what we’ve got to offer - it’s a bostin’ selection!”

The new Black Country Hub was officially opened by radio presenter and Big Brother star PJ Ellis on Monday with a ribbon cutting ceremony.

Since opening, the Hub has been supporting the Human Appeal’s drive to collect as many coats as possible for those less fortunate this Christmas.

More than 600 coats have been collected across the Black Country through the charity partnership between Brierley Hill Market, Halesowen BID, Black Country Radio and BBC Radio WM.

Dave added: “It was great to have PJ down to cut the ribbon and brilliant to be able to show our support for the Christmas coat appeal.

“Once again, the Black Country showed its caring side and residents have made a real difference to the lives of others this winter.”

The Hub shop is open seven days a week, from 10am until 6pm Monday to Saturday and 11am to 5pm on Sundays.
