A SOAP opera star will be swapping the Yorkshire Dales for the Black Country as he has been announced as the special guest at a Christmas light switch-on in Sandwell.
Danny Miller, who plays Aaron Dingle in Emmerdale, will be switching on the Christmas lights in Wednesbury later this month.
As well as being a member of the iconic Dingle family on the ITV soap, Danny has also starred on I’m a Celebrity: Get Me Out of Here! In 2021, when he was crowned King of the Jungle.
The event is set to take place near the Clock Tower on Saturday, November 30, marking the start of the festive season in Wednesbury.
The festive fun will be taking place from 1pm until 6.30pm, with the high street being lit up at 6.15pm.
There will be a lantern procession, fairground ride, local stalls and a whole host of entertainment, including an appearance from Santa himself of course.
Sandwell Council is also on the hunt for more performers from local schools and groups who would like to showcase their talents at the event, helping to spread the Christmas cheer.
The council are also looking for support from “passionate local businesses” to help them deliver a “2024 Christmas celebration programme not to be forgotten”.
As well as Danny Miller, The Mayor of Sandwell and Councillor Giles will be at the switch-on to mark the start of Christmas in Wednesbury.
For more information about how to get in touch if you would like to perform at or support the event, as well as details about other Christmas light switch-ons in Sandwell, visit their website.
