THE Tesco Extra store in Stourbridge town centre had to close early yesterday (Wednesday, November 13) due to a fire alarm.
West Midlands Fire Service said it was a false alarm caused by a fault with a sprinkler system.
The alarm was triggered in the shared facilities in the Crown Shopping Centre, Tesco has said.
One fire crew from Stourbridge attended.
A spokesperson for Tesco said: “Our Stourbridge Extra store is open and trading as normal today after having to close early last night due to a fire alert. We apologise for the inconvenience.”
