A SUSPECTED thief has been arrested after a stolen car crashed into several vehicles in Dudley.
A Ford Puma was reported stolen from an address in Netherton just after 5pm on Wednesday (November 20) and was later spotted by officers on Duncan Edwards Way.
Officers pursued the vehicle which was seen to travel at more than 70mph in 30mph zones and go through a number of red lights.
It came to a halt on Pedmore Road after colliding with a number of other vehicles. The driver fled but was detained shortly afterwards.
A 26-year-old man remains in custody this afternoon (Thursday, November 21) on suspicion of theft of a vehicle and dangerous driving as enquiries continue.
A spokesperson for West Midlands Police said: "We're absolutely committed to working with partners to make the roads safer, through enforcement and education.
"We're playing our part by investing in our Roads Policing Unit, with a focus on targeting criminals who use the roads".
