Christmas light switch-on events have been cancelled in Dudley and Brierley Hill after Storm Bert hit the region.
Dudley Council made the announcement earlier today (Saturday, November 23) that the switch-on events could not take place due to adverse weather conditions.
The lights were set to be switched on at 4pm in both areas with live entertainment and Christmas markets.
The council said the town centre shops and stalls were open as normal to shoppers.
Dudley Council said: “Sadly, due to the weather we have taken the difficult decision to cancel today's Christmas lights switch on events in Dudley and Brierley Hill.
“Town centres shops and stalls are open as normal for shoppers.”
The Christmas light switch-on events are still set to take place in Stourbridge and Sedgley next weekend.
There will be a mix of entertainment and activities throughout the day before the lights are officially switched on in the evening.
