A man has been left injured following a hit-and-run in Stourbridge.
West Midlands Police said the 37-year-old man was hit by a red Mazda 3 on Lye Bypass near the junction of Jackson Street.
The incident happened at around 4.40pm on Thursday (November 14) when the man was attempting to rescue a stray dog.
He had been crossing the road after spotting the pug near to a bus stop.
Officers said the car was later found parked behind Wollescote Community Centre on Wassell Road.
It has been seized for forensic examination.
No arrests have been made but police have launched an appeal to find the driver.
A spokesperson for West Midlands Police said: “No arrests have been made and we need people who saw what happened or have dashcam footage of the collision, to get in touch with us.
“The man is now recovering at home but it is unclear what happened to the dog following the incident.
“The driver has been urged to get in touch with us as soon as possible.
