THE candidates for the forthcoming by-election in Brockmoor and Pensnett have been revealed.
Voters will be heading to the polls on December 19 to choose a new ward councillor after Dudley Labour Group's Judy Foster stepped down as an elected member on November 10.
Nominations closed on Friday November 22 and the candidates have now been confirmed.
They are:
Alex Dale (Conservative Party)
Ant Dugmore (Green Party)
Cassie Gray (Independent)
Karen Jordan (Labour Party)
David Sheppard (Liberal Democrats)
Richard Tasker (Reform UK)
Residents in the ward are now urged to make sure they are registered to vote if they want to have a say.
People have until December 3 to register to vote, which can be done online.
An approved form of ID such as a passport or driving licence is needed if people want to vote at a polling station.
Anyone without an approved form of ID can apply for a free voter authority certificate but must do so by 5pm on December 11.
The deadline to apply for a postal vote is 5pm on December 4, and this does not require ID to vote. The deadline for proxy applications is 5pm on December 11.
Balvinder Heran, Dudley Council's interim chief executive and elections returning officer, said: "This by-election is not far away so there is not long for people to make sure they are registered to vote. If they are not registered, they cannot have their say in this election.
"There’s lots of useful information on our website about this election and I would encourage people to find out more."
