THE Chairman Fred Willetts welcomed members and the speaker Claude Rushton to the meeting. A very warm welcome to the president Tom Hadgkiss who was recovering from an operation.
Also a welcome to visitors John and Maggie Greathead and new members Mr and Mrs Hasall. Congratulations to John Boswell whose allotment in Charles Road was chosen as the best in the Charles Road Allotment site and second in all the allotments in the Stourbridge borough.
The chairman announced his retirement from September. Names are being collected for the chairman’s lunch in November at Bromsgrove Golf Club.
The chairman thanked the speaker for his interesting talk on chrysanthemums. Members were given all details for the annual show on Saturday September 6 at St James Church Hall, Wollaston at 2.15om to the public. Sale of produce follows later.
Tea and cakes will be available during the afternoon. All proceeds will go to the presidents charity.

Members were reminded about the annual show on September 6 to try and make it a bumper show.
The evening closed with a raffle.
Our next meeting will be on September 15. The speaker will be Brian Draper showing us where to find wildlife along the River Severn.
