ON Wednesday, July 30 at Brockmoor Community Centre, the club held ‘Kennel Club good citizen dog scheme tests’, at gold level.
Tests were carried out by approved Kennel Club assessor, Caroline Simkin and her steward Yvonne Smith, who awarded seven out of ten gold passes.
Awards went to; Lyn Farmer and Lexi, Wayne Harris and Isis from Dudley; Tony Walker and Toby, Linda Fellows and Ben from Kingswinford; Jacky Standish and Bonnie, Cath Swain and Ben from Wall Heath; Joanne Collins and Summer from Brierley Hill.
The gold award is the highest level of achievement of the Good Citizen Dog Scheme.
Dogs are trained to a very high standard and handlers understand their responsibilities to their dogs, their neighbours and to the community.
Sadly, three dogs and handlers did not achieve their gold award this time.
However, they all passed at least 80% of their assessment.
All dogs and handlers worked superbly and the Kennel Club assessors were very impressed with the standard of training.
