AT the last meeting of the summer term, 80 members and visitors of the 50 Plus Club enjoyed a strawberry tea with entertainment by Beryl Briscoe.
A raffle also took place on Wednesday July 16. There will not be a meeting during August.
The Autumn term opens on Wednesday September 3 with a talk by Patricia Botd entitled, ‘What the bride wore’. A slice of wedding cake will be served with a cup of tea.
Talks for the remainder of the term are as follows; Wednesday September 10, outing to bridges at Blackpole, Worcester for lunch and entertainment. September 17 ‘My Gran was a Gypsy’, talk by Mr Locke-Mills. October 2 ‘River Severn part 1’, illustrated talk by Brian Draper MBE. October 15 ‘Woven in Kidderminster’, a talk by Melvyn Thompson. October 29 ‘Golden birds’ illustrated talk by David Tideswell.
November 5 ‘Birmingham Jewellery Quarter’, illustrated talk by Mr Ken Hughes. November 19 ‘China’s ancient and modern treasures’, illustrated talk by Ray Sturdy. December 3 ‘Christmas Entertainment’ by Maggie O’Hara with hot punch, wine and mince pies.
The 50 Plus Club meets fortnightly in the community centre, Enville Road, Wall Heath on Wednesday afternoons at 1.45pm.
